Under the first picture Selena wrote: “Got a lesson in how to dance.”

“Then we flew to Tamale, Ghana to visit kids who told us about how Unicef is helping them.”

“Then I went to visit a tribe where the women gifted me with an outfit they hand made. Then I got to hold a new born baby"

THE YOUNGEST UNICEF AMBASSADOR

Teen sensation Selena Gomez has been officially appointed UNICEF's youngest ever ambassador. The 17-year-old Wizards of Waverly Place actress, who as a child starred in Disney's Barney and Friends, has been chosen to "use her voice, recognition and commitment to children's issues to fundraise and educate" on behalf of the organisation.

"Every day 25,000 children die from preventable causes," said Gomez. "I stand with UNICEF in the belief that we can change that number from 25,000 to zero. I know we can achieve this because every moment, UNICEF is on the ground providing children with the life-saving assistance needed to ensure zero becomes a reality."

It is hoped that teenage actress will be able to reach out to and engage younger people in the global mission to save lives and for her first official trip, Gomez is off to Ghana this week

ASHLEY TISDALE'S INTERVIEW WITH OK MAGAZINE

Ashley Tisdale spoke with OK! Magazine and had this great compliment to pay to Miley Cyrus: “She’s a real sweetheart. She’s a big sweetheart, actually. She’s someone who has really stayed true to herself, and she hasn’t changed for how successful and huge she is. She’s really grounded and so is her family. They’re very supportive people. She’s somebody who’s always there to listen, and she’s a great person.”

Ashley also talks about how important it is to have girlfriends even when you have a busy career: “I think it’s always important to have girlfriends because guys tend to come and go. It’s always great to have those girlfriends for support, and who have your best intentions and who you can trust.”

DISNEY TO OWN WIDELOAD GAMES

The Walt Disney Company has announced that it has reached a deal to acquire the Wideload Games Inc video game manufacturer.
The company created the game Halo for Microsoft’s Xbox console. No word yet on how much the Disney Company has spent on this purchase.
The deal follows the deal the Walt Disney Company made for $4 billion to acquire the Marvel Entertainment company.
Wideload Games will now be run by Disney’s Interactive Studio.

Created in 1995, the American Latino Media Arts Award (ALMA Award) is awarded to Latino actors, directors, designers and musicians who are a positive influence in the entertainment industry.

Many of our favorite Disney stars have been nominated for ALMA Awards, including:

- Jake T. Austin

Demi and David were nominated for a Special Achievement Music award while Selena was nominated for Special Achievement Comedy Actress and Jake nabbed a nomination for Comedy Actor.

Disney Dreaming got the amazing opportunity to talk to Emily Osment today! She told us about her new single titled “All The Way Up,” and even talked about her album which comes out in 2010!

We took a lot of the questions we asked her straight from you guys – you were very curious if Emily had a celebrity crush and if she would be going on tour when her album releases. Check out her answers to your questions below:

Are you a PC person or a Mac person?

“Mac.”

Chocolate or Vanilla?

“Chocolate.”

Coke or Pepsi?

“Coke.”

Favorite Color?

“Blue.”

Zac Efron or Robert Pattinson?

“Tom York.” (Tom is the lead singer and songwriter of the group Radiohead.)

What made you decide to move from TV into music?

“I was kind of doing both for as long as i can remember. I love music more than anything else. I had been writing and playing music since i was little…It was about three years ago when I decided i wanted to make this official…It’s been so much fun, I’ve been able to work with some amazing people.”

What does your new song "All the way Up" mean to you?

“That song was written about a year ago and I recorded the final recording three or four months ago. I wrote it with Tony Fagenson and Max Collins….When we first wrote it we wanted to write a song about breaking out…A lot of kids can connect with that because we all have strange habits.

What is the music video for the song “All The Way Up” going to be like?

“The video was so fun, Push Play (the band) plays my band…We’re buddies…It was really fun we shot it in a mock apartment where you could see whats going on in every room…I’m playing music upstairs and you can see how it’s effecting all the rooms below.”

Emily Osment had a role in Push Play’s latest music video for their song Midnight Romeo.

Emily’s music video for her new single “All The Way Up” will be releasing exclusively on Yahoo Monday, August 24th and everywhere else on the 25th.

The music video was directed by Roman White, who has also directed videos for Billy Ray Cyrus, Taylor Swift and Push Play’s “Midnight Romeo” video.

Will you be going on tour when your album comes out?

“I really hope so! I finally got my band together, they are the sweetest guys ever…I’m actually rehearsing today. I hope all this rehearsing is going to good use!”

Did you write any of the songs on the album?

“I co-wrote every song on the album,” which took Emily two years to do!

What type of music is on your upcoming album?

“The songs on the album are from four different people, I wrote with four different people, and they all had to fit on the album together…I kind of just did my own thing. I listen to a lot of Alanis Morissette, I kind of got inspired from her and her song “Jagged Little Pill” …There’s a lot of edge to (Emily’s album)…I love hearing the guitars and the drums in the songs.”

The winner of the auction will be Miley’s “Roadie For A Day,” and will be able to go behind-the-scenes at her upcoming concert tour – meaning they get to chill backstage with the popstar before, during and after the show!

Vanessa Hudgens was recently interviewed by Parade Magazine and we found some things out about the Disney Star that we didn’t know before.

We’ve mentioned before that Vanessa loves having her own house to herself, but we had no idea how close she lived to her parents! Turns out Vanessa only moved 10 minutes down the road from her parents home. She says, “They helped me move. They helped me fix my house up. They know I’m growing up, and they’re proud that I can actually have my own home. I mean, of course I know they’re sad. I am so close to my family. I talk to my mom almost every day.”

Vanessa is so close to her mom that she even got her fired once! Vanessa says, “I was calling her at work way too much, because I missed her. Back then, I was so shy, I did not want to leave her side. I would call her at work nonstop, to the point where she got fired. It was horrible.”

We knew about the clothing line inspired by Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas’ Disney Channel Original Series “JONAS,” but this is the first we are hearing of a “Wizards of Waverly Place” inspired clothing line.

Both lines are described as “preppy collegiate,” and “boho chic.” They will be available early this fall as school is about to start up again.

Disney will feature the clothing lines on YouTube this Thursday, July 23, 2009. You can check it out at www.youtube.com/DisneyLiving where models will walk down the runway and show off the styles to fans.

Happy Birthday to one of our favorite Disney Stars Selena Gomez! Born in 1992, Selena turns 17 years old today!

Currently Selena is working on the finishing touches on her first album, which is due to release by the end of this summer. She is also waiting for her Disney Channel Original Movie “Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie,” to air next month on the Disney Channel. And of course, she is currently filming for the next season of the Disney Channel Original Series Wizards of Waverly Place.

Selena also filmed for the movie “Beezus and Ramona,” which is due to come out in theaters in 2010, and she has inspired by a clothing line which will be in stores this Fall.

Yesterday the Jonas Brothers played softball at AOL’s Dulles campus in Sterling, VA. Nick, Joe and Kevin joined the game to raise money for the Change for childern's Foundation.

The foundation was started by the JoBros in order to inspire kids to help other kids that are going through hardships.

The Jonas Brothers team is called the Road Dogs, and guess what? They won! The brothers beat the AOL All-Stars team with a score of 15 to 13, winning $2,900 for their foundation. Way to go guys!

Jesse McCartney sat down with Parade magazine recently and talked about the Jonas Brothers, how much he loves cooking, and his favorite charities.

Jesse is good friends with Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas, and he commends them on being so open about who they are. He said, “I never wore a promise ring like them. It’s a big step for them to be open about their virginity. I’ve seen them take a lot of heat. But I respect them, if that’s what they want to do. It’s cool.”

And what kind of girlfriend is Jesse looking to find? He said, “She’ll have to be someone who likes to eat my cooking. Or, at least, she’ll have to pretend.” Why cooking you ask? Turns out Jesse LOVES too cook! He said, “All I watch is the Food Network. I took a cheesemaking class a few weeks ago, and I told my family and friends to only get me kitchen stuff on my birthday. I’m into every kind of cookbook and anything by Anthony Bourdain. I’d love to own a restaurant if I could find the right chef.” Why can’t Jesse be the chef??? We’d eat a restaurant he cooked at!

CAMP ROCK 2 : THE FINAL JAM

Looks like Disney is making it pretty clear that there will not be a Camp Rock 3 by titling the greatly anticipated sequel to Camp Rock, “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam.”

Set to air as a Disney Channel Original Movie in 2010,Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers (Nick, Joe, Kevin and younger brother Frankie) will begin filming later this summer.

Other returning actors include Meaghan Martin, Alyson Stoner and Maria Canals-Barrera, alongside newcomers hip hop artist Matthew “Mdot” Finley and classical pianist Chloe Bridges, the daughter of Camp Star’s owner. Mdot’s character is the champion singer of the camp across the lake, Camp Star, who challenges the Camp Rock crew to a talent showdown. And it turns out Mdot isn’t the only person that those at Camp Rock will learn about, some of their own members have jumped over to the dark side by attending Camp Star this summer instead – yikes!

Looks like it’s Nick’s time for a love interest in Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (Joe had his turn last time and Kevin is getting his turn in real life). Nick falls for Chloe Bridges character, Dana, and has to decide what to do since she is a member of the rival camp.

Taylor Swift’s career keeps going up and up and up! It doesn’t seem like it will ever stop until she has passed every single top artists! Glamour Magazine took the time to sit down with Taylor and talk to her about her career, her love life, her friends and her family and we want to share some of her amazing quotes with you.

Ever wonder what a typical day is like when Taylor is on tour? Currently she is on her “Fearless” Tour and it is going amazing! She says, “On any given day I do five or six different interviews. If we are somewhere really pretty, I’ll try to experience the place I’m in. Today I’m going to head to the beach. My meet and greet schedule starts at 5:00 P.M. The show starts at 8:00 P.M. Then, I’ll do a mass meet and greet with people who won a radio contest, or who we found in the nosebleed section.” Aww, that is so sweet of her!

It also turns out that Taylor is a workaholic. She gets really restless and bored if she hasn’t worked for a little over a day – yikes!

About dating Taylor says, “I don’t date a lot. The other day I was in my dressing room with one of my closest friends, [American Idol alum ] Kellie Pickler, who is also my opening act, and she said something really interesting to me: ‘We can only give someone what’s left over.’ She does the same thing I do, so she knows what it’s like to do interviews all day and give your heart and soul on stage every night. After all of that is taken, we can only give someone what’s left. So it’s hard.”

And if Taylor does date someone, what type of relationship is it going to be? She says, “It’s always going to be long-distance, even if I date the boy who lives next door to me in Nashville. I’ll be flying to see him and flying him places to see me. It feels like it would involve more scheduling, and I already deal with a lot of scheduling in my life. Of course, if I met somebody who was worth it, I would probably stop thinking that way!”

What about Taylor’s family? She says, “My mom quit working when I was four, so she was always around, and my dad is just hilarious—you’ll meet him. [I later found Swift’s father riding a Segway scooter around the arena parking lot, handing out guitar picks that bore his daughter’s image.] I grew up on a Christmas tree farm with all this space to run around, and the [freedom] to be a crazy kid with tangled hair.”

And where in the world does Taylor see herself years down the line after she has accomplished so much at such a young age? She answers, “As far as my career goes, I hope I’m still touring. I’d love to always be present in music, writing songs, but I’m not the kind of person who will hang around if I become irrelevant. I’ll bow out gracefully, raise my kids and have a garden. And I’m going to let my hair go gray when I’m older—I don’t need to be blond when I’m 60!”

On Tuesday night, Nick, Joe and Kevin performed a show in Vancouver. Afterward, Kevin boarded a flight to New Jersey where he planned to pop the question. He says, “It was tough performing last night, knowing that I was going to ask the biggest question in my life to the most amazing girl in the world.”

How cute is that! Kevin got down on one knee on Danielle’s doorstep on Wednesday morning and “She said yes, yes, yes like 500 times super fast in a row,” Kevin says.

Ever since Transformers 2 opened everyone has been fixated on the toys of their youth. When Joe was asked about the toys he played with he said that he has kept a G.I. Joe that he used to play with as a kid. And he even had it still in the box! He said, “Frankie opened it one day, and I was so upset because I was saving it, thinking I’d make a lot of money by keeping it closed. Oh, well.”

Any weird habits? Yup, Joe plays all his concerts with his cell phone in his pocket (we hope it’s so he can pick up our call!!!). He says, “I feel more comfortable playing a show with my phone in my pocket. I have it in my pocket all days, and when I take it out, it feels weird.”

Oh and what might be Joe’s favorite color? You’ll never guess! PURPLE! He says, “Purple is awesome. It’s my favorite color, and on a girl it’s even better.”

Any favorite candy? Oh yes, Joe loves Lemonheads. We love M&M’s, but we wont hold it against him!

And the final question…how does Joe like being called a heartthrob? He says, “It’s nice. It’s funny because my mom was always talking about how when she was young, she had posters on her wall of young guy stars. If I’m in that category, I guess I’ve made my mom proud!”

The family of legend Walt Disney hope to inform the public of their relative in a way that has never been done before. They want the public to continue thinking of magic and movies when they hear the name Walt, but they also want everyone to know the story of the man himself.

Walt Disney’s daughter, Diane Disney Miller, said, “My dad’s story is an inspirational story. I want people to understand his character and how he pursued his career. Our museum will be entertaining,” she said. “That’s what dad was all about.”

Walt’s family became concerned when they found out that a large number of young people think that Walt Disney is a made up character, the same as Mickey Mouse, to help sell the Disney image. They hope to prove this idea false with the Walt Disney Family Museum which will be opening in San Francisco this fall (hopefully by October 1, 2009).

The museum will display all of Disney’s work in one place, from his movies, theme parks and inventions. The space will feature 10 galleries, which will display stories and artifacts from Walt’s childhood to adulthood.

Yesterday Nick Jonas made a stop in Washington D.C. to visit with none other than President Obama. Nick will be testifying at a Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee hearing on the government funding for diabetes research.

Nick won’t be the only celebrity there either. He will be joined by Mary Tyler More and Sugar Ray Leonard.

Nick also got to visit with a group of kids who have diabetes, as well as meet the President there. He said, “It was great. He came up and thanked me for meeting his daughters and playing for them. I said, ‘It’s a pleasure to meet you.’ He said, ‘It’s a pleasure to meet you, too.’ Then we took a picture with about 100 kids.”

MITCHEL MUSSO HAS A GIRLFRIEND !!

On the popular Disney Channel Original Series “Hannah Montana,” Mitchel Musso’s character is dating his co-star Emily Osments character, but in real life Mitchel has another girl who’s holding onto his heart.

Mitchel recently told Seventeen Magazine that he has been dating actress Gia Mantegna for a couple months, saying, “We’ve been dating about two months. We go out with friends, or when it’s just us, we watch movies and eat sushi. It’s the first actual relationship I’ve ever had. We’re together 24/7 attached at the hip, and I love it. Whenever a ton of boys are around, she gets closer to me. A lot of times, a girl will go around and socialize, but Gia makes sure that everyone knows we’re together. It’s very comforting – I feel like it’s my safe zone, like nothing bad is going to happen. And she’s really close to her family, which is great.” Awwww, how sweet is that???

Gia was born on April 17, 1990 while Mitchel was born a year later on July 9, 1991. Most recently Gia has been working on a few cameos in television series, but she has also been in some blockbuster movies including:

- In the Land of Women (2007)
- Unaccompanied Minors (2006)
- 13 Going on 30 (2004)

At least it sounds like Mitchel is less confused about his own relationship than he is about Miley Cyrus! Congratulations to the happy couple!

Looks like Mitchel Musso is just as confused about Miley Cyrus’ love life as all of the rest of us! In a recent interview with TWIST Magazine Mitchel said “Is this about Nick? Everybody keeps asking me about it! I still don’t get it because she was literally just talking about Justin the other day at The Grove. I think it was a week and a half ago when we played a show together. I don’t know. I guess things move really fast for them!”

So it sounds like Miley is definitely dating Nick Jonas in the eyes of her “Hannah Montana” co-star Mitchel. What do you all think? We can totally understand if there was still some underlying emotions between Miss Miley and her ex-boyfriend Nicky Jonas, but do you think moving on in a week is too fast or do you think that Miley just knows what she wants?

MILEY'S CONCERT TICKETS SELL SLOWER THAN NORMAL

Usually tickets to Miss Miley Cyrus’ concertssell out within a few hours, but the day after her tickets went on sale there were still seats at more than 40 of Miley’s concerts still for sale. The only show that sold out the first day of sales was Miley’s first show in Newark, New Jersey on November 7, 2009.

Is paperless ticketing the culprit for Miss Miley’s ticket sales bombing? A spokesperson at the popular ticket resale website StubHub had this to say about the sale of Miley’s tickets: “less that 18 months ago Miley Cyrus was the hottest live touring act in America. She continues to be a rising star in the music world. However it seems based on the early returns of onsales that paperless only ticketing policy for this tour has only served as a deterrent for her fans.”

Another spokesperson for the site TicketNetwork said, “consumers stayed away from paperless tickets in part because of convenience and logistic issues. Frontline management’s marriage to Ticketmaster may have cost Miley dearly. It appears as Miley’s managers made a decision to benefit TicketMaster while sacrificing Miley. This could be a career ending situation for Miley’s singing career.”

It also turned out that Miley’s management took some of the un-sold tickets and turned them around on a scalping site for upwards of $295 – yikes! The whole point of paperless ticketing was to keep the ticket prices from fluctuating on scalping and ticket re-sale sites. Doing the same thing that they were fighting against was not a smart move for Team Miley!

NICK ANNOUNCES ON TWITTER ABOUT KEVIN'S ENGAGEMENT !!

Nick Jonas announced today on twitter that he has graduated high school! Wow! He said on his Twitter account that he shares with his brothers Kevin and Joe, “I’m happy to announce I have graduated! Class of 09! Congrats to everyone else who has also graduated this year! -Mr. President (Nick).”

Congratulations Nick!

Now Nick, Joe and Kevin can all concentrate entirely on their career and not have to spend time home-schooling anymore unless they decide to take some college courses!

Miley Cyrus gave some local diners a great surprise in Savannah, Georgia recently when she decided to get up on stage at a local restaurant called Sting Rays on Tybee Island.

She actually sang a song that she had written down on a piece of paper she pulled out of her pocket. The song was about a break up (gee, wonder who it was about) and the locals said she did a great job singing and playing the guitar with a local musician named Jason Courtney.

Jesse McCartney is moving and he has listed his home in Hollywood Hills, California at the whopping price of $1,199,000. He purchased the house in 2007 for $1,076,000.

Jesse has lived in the home for 2 years. It was buit in 1965 and has 2.5 bathrooms and 1,600 square feet of home. He even has a fire pit and waterfall outside!

Looks like Jesse has done pretty well for himself since he became a major celebrity because he is selling his house in order to buy a bigger one! Congrats Jesse!

Well technically a few shows up…but it was less than 10 people! Miley Cyrus held an OPEN casting call today in Savannah, Georgia for her movie “The Last Song.” At the open call her producers of the film where planning on having thousands upon thousands of screaming fans show up to try out for the film. But alas, like we said, less than 10 souls showed up. What happened!?

We think it might be because Miss Miley is such a huge celebrity and everyone would love to be in her movie that they didn’t think even if they showed up they’d be able to get a role because so many other people would show up. Looks like that was a mistake!

One of the guys who tried out for the film said the following about why he showed up to the try outs: “It’s a Miley Cyrus movie, I think that would be pretty funny if I was in it. So I figured I would come out and try.”

Justin Gaston was interviewed by Details Magazine for their upcoming issue and he let spill lots of interesting details about himself that we had no idea about - including having a huge tattoo and wanting to be a lap-dog. Read on to get all the deets!

Little did we all know that Justy has a giant tattoo that runs from his side down onto his bum. He says, “It’s Psalm 7:8, ‘Judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness. I don’t want to be judged—so I put it on my body in an attempt to become that bold.”

The fact that Justin doesn’t want to be judged is probably the reason the former underwear model is having some pretty interesting dreams about being chased by the paparazzi lately! We thought Justy liked being in the limelight, but according to the interview he gave to Details he doesn’t at all!

Justin has been working hard on his music career, but he wont come forward with any solid answer about what that entails. All he will tell the magazine is that he is working on his image first and then the music will come second.

And then comes the most interesting part of the interview. When asked what Justin would be if he weren’t an up-and-coming actor and singer and the boyfriend of Miss Miley Cyrus. To which he answers, “One of those little lapdogs that gets petted all day. You know, they wake up, get fed, get attention. I like attention. I’d like to be one of those little dogs. Is that weird?” But we thought Justy just told us he didn’t like attention from the photogs and that they gave him nightmares? Hmmm…the mystery that is Justin Gaston.
